The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Deli Clerk at Southdale Food Store located at 77 Vermillion Road, in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Deli Manager.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
Deliver world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.
Maintain sections of merchandise (luncheon meat, cheese, home meal replacement, hot food, bulk product, packaged product) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Deli Manager.
Ensure the deli department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
Prepare fresh value-added product and home meal replacement items as per established Co-op recipes and procedures. Ensure consistency in ingredients used and preparation method at all times.
Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed.

Previous experience in a retail deli department is considered an asset.
Ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedly.
Open availability and willingness to work different shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
