Unposting Date: 2025-11-16 11:59 PM JOB POSTING: PRODUCER OF NEWS AND DIGITAL VIDEO Your role: CBC British Columbia is looking for a producer to coordinate our award-winning video news content to reach audiences across CBC owned and operated platforms (web, mobile and FAST), YouTube and TikTok. You have a keen eye and passion for visual detail, production techniques, and the craft of video storytelling. You understand and study the analytics behind audience behaviour to optimize the discoverability of CBC content and strategic distribution. You know how to harness the power of a well-crafted thumbnail and headline. You will work in conjunction with assignment producers to coordinate a team of editors and visual APs, ensure a high standard of video quality, and manage team assignments to ensure video news content rolls out seven days a week from morning to night. You give meaningful feedback to elevate the overall quality of finished work. You will take the lead on producing responsive live video coverage of breaking and developing news. You can delegate effectively, remain calm in high-pressure situations, balance competing priorities, and lead high-performing journalists working to tight deadlines. Reporting to the Executive Producer of News and Digital Video, you will help guide programming decisions around breaking news, responsive live coverage and social media content in line with the CBC’s strategic goals. This is a full time temporary 1 year, in person position based in Vancouver B.C..year. Your profile: University degree or equivalent. Minimum five years recent experience in a multi-media news environment. Strong journalistic and communication skills. Proven understanding of video storytelling techniques and editing software. Experience using and analyzing digital video platforms YouTube and TikTok. Ability to assign, manage and motivate staff, coordinate with other news leaders and departments in a productive manner, and mediate disputes as they arise. Ability to manage large volumes of fast-moving information and ensure clear communication. Knowledge of user-generated content and policies.
