Work Schedule Standard Office Hours (40/wk) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description Summary: Responsible for handling outbound domestic and international shipping including packing and labeling shipments. Involves comprehensive management of export trade compliance duties for the company and requires familiarity with local and international Government regulations. Primary responsibility is to ensure the highest level of quality order fulfillment through order receipt to product delivery of Thermo Fisher products. Essential Functions: • Prepare, process and ensure accuracy of essential export documentation, including but not limited to bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, Canadian export declarations (CERS), certificates of origin (COO), and advanced ship notices. • Ensure compliance with Canada Customs Export regulations and applicable trade regulations. • Assess the eligibility of various Free Trade Agreements and/or CUSMA. • Participate actively in CBSA customs audits, internal audits, and other significant projects as required. • Coordinate domestic and international shipments, providing follow-up with internal and external customers. • Organize Dangerous Goods (DG) shipments by air and road, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. • Process sales orders using the SAP system for billing purposes. • File Canada Export Reports using CBSA websites. • Serve as the Air Cargo Representative, ensuring adherence to Transport Canada's Known Consignor Program. • Prepare samples and commercial shipments as needed, maintaining critical metric datasheets. • Use the Cold Chain Management (CCM) Web System and Serialization System (RockIT) or similar systems. • Conduct restricted party screenings for business partners. • Support management in resolving logistical issues raised by clients, such as shipping delays, damaged products, and documentation discrepancies, while maintaining clear and proactive communication with clients in compliance with the Logistic Routing Guide. • Adhere to the Company's Global Trade Compliance Policy and Global Trade Compliance Management System. • Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards. • Perform alternating or rotating shift work as required. • Travel to offsite warehouse location is required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: • High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: • Minimum 3 year of experience in export regulations, documentation, and compliance standards. • Minimum 3 years of SAP experience in the sales & distribution, planning and shipment module. • Minimum 3 years of experience filing Canada Export Reports using CBSA websites. Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Familiarity with the Canada Customs Tariff and possess comprehensive knowledge of HTS classification. • Demonstrate knowledge of INCOTERMS and understand the responsibilities outlined in sales contracts. • Highly organized and able to undertake and prioritize a multitude of tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail, highly efficient and effective time management skills. • Work efficiently with limited supervision. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Dedicated to achieving outcomes. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Proven computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. • Proficiency with the English Language. Walks, sits, or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Use of Personal Protective equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator occasionally.
