Job Description What is the opportunity? RBC Royal Trust Risk and Regulatory Initiatives team is a national office team of highly skilled risk professionals specialized in estate and trust business. We oversee and implement regulatory initiatives, supports operational risk matters and internal controls, as well as maintain business policies. Our core mandate includes advice and counsel on regulatory areas such as Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering, Common Reporting Standards (CRS), Conflicts of Interest, and complaints. Lead strategic regulatory and business risk initiatives as assigned. Lead the creation and maintenance of business policies that balance risk with the client and employee experience; chair the Policy Review Committee of RBC Royal Trust. Manage the overall internal controls framework for the business to effectively minimize risks and operational losses. Provide advice on regulatory matters related to Privacy, AML, Complaints, Conflicts of Interest, CRS/FATCA, as assigned. Make reasoned and informed recommendations to the business relating to regulatory or risk related issues impacting the business. Advise business unit at national level on regulatory, operational and reputational risk aspects of new and existing products, processes, projects and strategy. Work in conjunction with Professional Development and functional partners to produce training materials for staff, as required. Develops partnerships with key individuals across the RBC network as relevant to deliver the distinct RBC Royal Trust value propositions in the market. What do you need to succeed? Must haves: Strong understanding of risk management framework and ability to effectively identify, assess, and manage risks Policy development experience that involves analysis of complex information, identification of key issues, and potential solutions to address them. Working knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to trust companies, estates and trusts law principles Experience in relationship management role working with complex client / stakeholder relationships Project management skills Bachelor’s Degree Nice-to-have: Drives performance and sustains/drives results from self and others through professional excellence and effective execution Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at various level within the organization What’s in it for you?
