Consultant, Enterprise Data & Records Management (Level 7)
Overview
Client's Data & Records Management Office (EDRMO) is responsible for governing how information is identified, retained, and disposed of across the bank. As part of records uplift and governance modernization program, we are seeking an experienced Records Management Consultant (Level 7) to help operationalize policies, strengthen controls, and support business partners enterprise-wide.
This role offers the opportunity to partner with technology, risk, audit, and business leaders to design practical records management solutions that balance compliance, efficiency, and business value.

What You’ll Do
• Consult & Enable: Advise business partners on records management requirements, policies, and leading practices throughout the information lifecycle.
• Governance Uplift: Support the development and maintenance of the records retention schedule, policies, and procedures that align with regulatory expectations (OSFI, FINTRAC, 3 Lines of Defence).
• Operational Excellence: Identify and implement process enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and drive adoption of records management controls across LOBs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business and technology partners to translate requirements into actionable solutions; prepare presentations and reports for executive-level audiences.
• Training & Awareness: Promote understanding of records concepts and best practices through forums and business enablement sessions across the enterprise.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with groups including Technology Infrastructure & Innovation, Information Security, Corporate Security, Finance, Internal Audit, and GORM to ensure consistent application of records standards.

What You Bring
• 5 + years of records management or information governance experience in a large, regulated organization (banking preferred).
• Deep understanding of records lifecycles, retention, and disposition practices and the ability to articulate what constitutes a record.
• Proven ability to navigate complex organizational structures and “self-serve” to find information and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable speaking to large audiences and handling challenging questions professionally.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills; experience producing clear, executive-ready deliverables.
• Exposure to ECM or records tools (OpenText, SharePoint Records, IBM FileNet) and/or data governance concepts an asset.
• Relevant education or designation (e.g., CA, CMA, MBA, CIA, CISA, Information Management) preferred but not mandatory

🧩 Context and Team Structure
• The Records Management group is a hub team that owns:
• Policies, procedures, and the Records Retention Schedule (RRS)
• Governance, risk, and controls for records
• Training and business enablement to help departments manage records properly
• The team is currently uplifting records management bank-wide:
• Updating documentation, retention schedules, and governance materials
• Enabling the business to handle record-related requirements independently
• Balancing between business enablement (Jen’s focus) and governance/risk (Rosemary’s focus)
