The Accounting Technician plays a key role in supporting the accounting and operations team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting requirements.
This position requires strong Excel skills, hands-on experience with both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle and subledgers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with the working hours of 8:00AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday. The starting wage will range between $26-$31 per hour depending on experience levels. Group benefits are available after a successful 90 day probation period.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and customer payments in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform bank, credit card, and subledger reconciliations on a regular basis.
Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including journal entries and account analysis.
Support budgeting and forecasting by compiling and analyzing financial data.
Prepare and submit payroll data for processing and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
Maintain organized and confidential financial files and documentation.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate job costing and expense allocation.
Assist with tax filings, audits, and compliance requirements.
Provide administrative and accounting support as required.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Diploma, certificate, or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
Intermediate accounting knowledge with a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle and subledger management.
Advanced Excel proficiency, including data organization, pivot tables, and reconciliation formulas.
Strong reconciliation skills with a proven ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Experience with accounting software and job costing processes is an asset.
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
