Polar Asset Management Partners is an alternative asset manager established in 1991 and headquartered in Toronto. With teams in Canada, US, and the UK, managing strategies across equities, credit, commodities, rates, and niche strategies we are committed to generating strong risk-adjusted returns.
What will you do?
Transaction structuring: Reviewing and executing new structured finance transactions, such as SRTs and asset-backed securitizations.
Credit analysis: Assisting in analyzing the creditworthiness of underlying assets and assessing the risk of structured products.
Financial modeling: Creating and maintaining financial models to support transactions and investment decisions. Developing and assessing portfolio stress analysis for transactions.
Due diligence: Working with Legal, Risk, and Structured Credit team to validate asset performance, risks and ensure compliance with transaction terms.
Project management: Develop project plans and coordinate the execution of key project / transaction steps across various groups including Legal, Operations, and Risk.
Portfolio management: Monitoring and reporting on portfolios, tracking cash flows, and analyzing investment performance on a monthly basis and quarterly basis.
Market monitoring: Staying informed on market data, industry news, and company news to support trading and investment decisions.
Who are you?
Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, accounting, or economics or Legal Degree.
Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience within the financial industry, preferably but not necessarily related to Structured Credit or Structured Finance
Financial knowledge: Deep understanding of complex fixed-income structures like CLOs, ABSs and derivative structures.
Analytical skills: Strong analytical abilities, detail orientation, and experience with financial modeling.
Collaboration: The ability to work effectively in a team and consensus-driven environment.
Initiative: A high level of personal responsibility, initiative, and self-management.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to present findings, negotiate terms, and collaborate with various teams and external parties.
