Mikisew Group Limited Partnership, a Mikisew Group company, is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a HR Advisor.
We are looking for a proactive and passionate HR Advisor to focus on managing end-to-end recruitment, building strong relationships with hiring managers, and providing HR support in employee relations, performance management, and talent development. The ideal candidate will proactively identify hiring needs, attract top talent, and contribute to the overall success of HR initiatives and employee experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the full recruitment cycle across various departments, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
Maintain accurate candidate and employee records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Develop and maintain an pipeline of qualified candidates to meet current and future hiring needs.
Conduct reference and background checks as required.
Update and maintain job descriptions to ensure accuracy and alignment with current roles, responsibilities, and organizational objectives.
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, staffing coordination, and defining role requirements.
Support leadership in performance management, employee relations, coaching, and terminations.
Administer HR processes and documentation, including Personal Change Notices, terminations, and compliance programs such as drug and alcohol testing.
Support HR initiatives by coordinating programs such as service awards and monthly employee recognitions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Assist HR leadership with various strategic and operational projects to ensure smooth execution of HR programs.
Working Conditions
This is an in-office position based at our Fort McMurray, AB location.
Shift: Monday to Friday (40 hours a week).
Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle recruitment and human resources experience across unionized and non-union environments, preferably including experience with skilled trades or technical roles.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Familiarity with safety management (HSMS) and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Professional, consistent, and adaptable, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Education:
HR-related designation and/or diploma; a combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating success in a similar role may be considered.
Registered Professional Recruiter Designation or CPHR Designation considered an asset.
