Bringing a deep understanding of the radio industry, strong leadership and superb editorial judgment, you must be a great collaborator, skilled at both rallying team members around shared goals and developing new content for ICI PREMIÈRE. You will be expected to forge the necessary partnerships to boost content visibility in the digital space and develop creative strategies to drive public engagement. Additionally, you must have a long-term vision to anticipate changing needs, be able to think outside the box and have good knowledge of ICI PREMIÈRE programming. Key tasks: Conceive and develop ideas and concepts for programming and remote broadcasts in line with CBC/Radio-Canada’s program and journalistic policies, standards and practices. Plan and organize the program or the components and/or segments of a program. Participate in the preparation of program objectives. Supervise a team and provide ongoing co-ordination of production staff (on-air hosts, researchers, etc.). Determine the style, pace, tempo, lineup and format of content best suited to the program. Help plan the financial and operational resources required for production. Evaluate all facets of a production, including the level of support provided to program personnel and freelance contributors. Take the show to air (including editing). What you bring? We are looking for a candidate with the following: University degree or equivalent in communications, journalism or another relevant field. Three to five years’ experience in radio production or another relevant field. Excellent understanding of the broadcasting industry, markets and listener behaviour. Solid command of French. Excellent general knowledge. Creative and innovative approach. Ability to lead, engage and inspire teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Flexibility and adaptability, and a proven track record of managing change within teams. Ability to make decisions rapidly. Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure. Expertise in the technical knowledge required to take a show to air. Ability to generate original story ideas and understand news stories. Knowledge of radio programming and program production. Knowledge of Radio-Canada programming. Strong knowledge of digital platforms and content. Knowledge of corporate policies is an asset. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
