Right now we’re looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to work in our Plastics Clinic.
Employment Status: Temporary Part TimeDuration: January 2027 - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.Hours of Work: Must be available for rotating day shifts from Monday to Friday (e.g. 7:00-15:00, 7:30-15:30 and/or 8:00-16:00) - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management RightsLocation: Humber River Health, Wilson SiteLabour Group: NOWUReporting Relationship: Manager, Fracture, Plastics & Surgical Clinics, Vascular Access TeamHourly Rate: $36.929 - $37.466
Responsibilities:
Scrubbing and circulating duties in minor plastics clinics.
Care of patients post minor – procedures and postoperative patients.
Assisting physician with procedures in the plastics clinic.
Participation in departmental teams/committees as required.
Participatation in quality improvement activities
Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patients as required.
Providing education and follow-up to all plastics clinic patients
All other RPN responsibilities set out by the department
Requirements:
Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program
Current Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Current BCLS certification
Minimum three (3) years acute surgical experience, required.
Minimum two (2) years ambulatory clinic experience is required.
Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, blood transfusion, wound care dressing, medication administration, etc.
Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
Demonstrated strong patient/family health teaching skills
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills required
Knowledge of a second language as asset
Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset
Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
