OBJECTIVE:
The Purchasing Agent, Fabrics is responsible for the purchasing and procuring the appropriate merchandise mix based on production plan for our garments.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
› Partner with vendor to source fabrics
› Follow-up with vendors/factories on all fabrics style and communicate any change or additional details
› Follow up with suppliers, technical drawings and production; facilitate communication within the company
› Contribute positively to team Dynamics
› Negotiate product quality, purchase quantity, landed cost, and delivery with vendors
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
› 3-5 years of experience in the fashion industry with buying responsibilities is essential
› Knowledge of Trims will be considered a major asset
› Outstanding interpersonal skills (Team oriented)
› Bilingual (English and French) written and spoken
› Demonstrated detail orientation; high sense of organization;
› Ability to manage multiple projects;
› Must have strong problem-solving skills that allow for a proactive approach to the business and organizational skills necessary to complete multiple tasks with deadlines
› Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
› Must possess basic Microsoft and Excel skills
