The Applications Analyst will support, advise and oversee all matters relating to health informatics for applications supported within the Applications I.S. Team Portfolio. As a member of the Integrated Digital Applications group, the Applications Analyst will have expertise with supporting, maintaining, and implementing of many hospital applications. The successful candidate will provide applications support, systems integration analysis, vendor management, and liaise with departments and vendors on new projects and rollouts.
Key Responsibilities:
Proven track record in supporting large-scale healthcare information systems and technology with a focus on high availability and currency of releases.
Identify opportunities to innovate, enhance and increase the service delivery of applications.
Assist in problem management activities.
Analyze, design, and implement solutions for applications supporting clinical, financial, and administrative functions.
Act as a primary liaison between end users and vendors to ensure timely resolution of system issues.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime for clinical users
Serve as the primary liaison between clinical staff and IT, translating operational needs into technical specifications
Develop and document technical specifications, workflows, and user training materials.
Support system integration, data interoperability, and compliance with privacy and other regulatory requirements
Project manage Application upgrades and new system implementations
Test new systems, version upgrades, interfaces and other system modifications
Provide technical support as an escalation point for Applications Support team during business hours
Participate in the patching of systems and security vulnerabilities mitigation
Document and maintain application profiles used by Information Services
Participate in on-call after hours rotations, disaster recovery planning, and go-live support for new application deployments.
Maintain knowledge of current healthcare IT trends, interoperability standards, and regulatory updates.

Qualifications & Skills:
Successful completion of either a university degree or college diploma in a computer science, or related I.T. field
Preferred five (5) years of recent related experience in hospital clinical and/or Hospital Information Systems/EMR experience
Preferred five (5) years of recent related experience supporting multiple applications in a large-scale corporation or business
In depth knowledge of I.T. Infrastructure (Server, Networking, Databases, Applications, Telephony)
Working knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data exchange standards
Familiarity with biomedical equipment
In depth knowledge of I.T. security standards and risk mitigation
Familiarity with SQL, Oracle, and data analytics platforms
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting incidents and performing root cause analysis.
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Experience with privacy, and security best practices as it pertains to a hospital environment
Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
Previous experience completing technical assessments and providing effective recommendations.
Clinical professional designations an asset
Exceptional multi-tasking, leadership and problem-solving abilities
ITIL and/or PMP certification is an asset.
