Summary:
The General Accountant/Project Accounting Technician is responsible for managing the accounting for multiple job sites. The functions include processing subcontract and regular accounts payable and accounts receivable while maintaining appropriate financial documentation through an organized system of filing. Other responsibilities include producing monthly accounting reports, processing cost reallocations and monthly accruals and providing assistance to site as needed.

Position Description:
Actively support the NAC Health & Safety Program and all actions specific to meeting annual H & S goals and objectives.
Processing all incoming vendor invoices for payment as per NAC payment terms and procedures.
Responsible for payment of site rents, utilities and petty cash.
Maintain hard copy filing systems for accounts payable and ensuring the confidentiality of all records.
Liaise with site regarding their outstanding problem payables.
Respond in a timely manner to vendor inquiries regarding account status.
Responsible for Statutory Declarations & WSIB documentation for accounts receivable billings and subcontract payables
Reconcile all subcontract accounts for final release as well as prepare final documentation.
Accurately generate month end reports including AP Audit Report and other reports as assigned
Post accruals for un-posted vendor invoices at month-end.
Post cost reallocations from site.
Collect progress draws and payment certificates from project managers on a monthly basis.
Post revenue billings.
Pursue all outstanding receivables and record payments when received.
Responsible to reconcile revenue contracts at least quarterly
Create positive working relationships with each job site.
Assist with training of site administrators or personnel regarding accounting procedures.
Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Requirements:
Possess a college diploma, accounting program, or an equivalent combination of required relevant skills with a minimum of 5 years of finance experience.
Well-organized, accurate and detailed individual.
Experience using Jonas Construction software system is an asset.
Advanced computer skills on programs such as, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role.
