Reporting to the VP, Marketing & Innovation the Director, Strategic Innovation, plays a key role in executing Andrew Peller’s five-year strategic growth plan. This role is responsible for driving the commercialization of innovation projects, supporting the development of new brands, and translating strategic insights into actionable plans.
This role will lead the day-to-day execution of the innovation pipeline, including product development, consumer research, and go-to-market strategy. With a strong focus on commercial impact, this role ensures that new initiatives are successfully brought to market and aligned with business objectives.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive trends. This role will also collaborate cross-functionally to activate innovation strategies, optimize brand performance, and contribute to long-term growth through disciplined execution and strategic thinking.
What this teammate will be responsible for -
Execute Strategic Innovation Projects
Support the delivery of Andrew Peller’s five-year strategic plan by executing innovation initiatives in high-growth areas.
Translate strategic direction into actionable plans and ensure timely execution with measurable outcomes.
Commercialize New Brands and Products
Lead go-to-market planning and execution for new brands and product innovations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful commercialization and market readiness.
Brand Creation & Commercial Pitching
Support the development of new brand concepts in collaboration with creative and strategic agencies, ensuring alignment with consumer insights and business objectives.
Manage the creative process from briefing through execution, including packaging, messaging, and campaign assets.
Prepare and deliver compelling brand pitches and commercialization plans to internal stakeholders and sales partners to secure buy-in and drive market success.
Develop Insight-Driven Strategies
Conduct market, consumer, and competitive analysis to inform brand and innovation strategies.
Turn insights into clear, actionable recommendations that drive business impact.
Optimize Brand Performance
Monitor brand performance and identify opportunities for improvement across key metrics.
Partner with internal teams to enhance brand positioning, customer satisfaction, and loyalty.
What this teammate will bring -
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related business discipline; MBA or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
Marketing & Commercialization Expertise: 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in management roles. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and successfully commercialize innovation projects from concept to market.
Strategic & Financial Acumen: Strong business ownership mindset with superior financial skills. Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive measurable growth.
Analytical & Insight-Driven: Exceptional analytical capabilities with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable strategies that support brand development and market success.
Creative Execution & Industry Knowledge: Experience managing creative agencies and launching integrated campaigns across digital, experiential, and retail channels. Wine industry experience is a strong asset; familiarity with core brands and owned imports preferred.
Collaboration & Influence: Skilled in stakeholder engagement, team coaching, and influencing across functions and levels. Able to manage competing priorities and drive alignment under tight timelines.
