Senior Mainframe QA Tester – Legacy Insurance Applications
Exciting opportunity in the insurance sector for a senior-level professional with strong expertise in mainframe and legacy system testing. This hybrid role in Markham involves high-impact transformation initiatives, collaboration across teams, and hands-on work with personal and commercial insurance systems.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $65-70 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $75-80 per hour.
• 10-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Hybrid model: 3 days per week on-site, subject to change.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize legacy mainframe UI to test insurance applications against business and technical requirements.
• Analyze test results, identify issues, and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams to ensure full test coverage and alignment with project goals.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, scripts, results, and updates on JIRA QE boards.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in mainframe testing, particularly within personal and commercial insurance environments.
• Hands-on experience with legacy systems and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with Aviva legacy systems is considered an asset.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
