Job Title: Supplier Manager – Industrialization
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Supplier Manager – Industrialization to lead supplier readiness efforts for new product introductions (NPI). This critical role involves coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers through industrialization phases to ensure a successful production ramp-up. This position requires significant travel to support on-site activities and interventions.
Responsibilities
Lead supplier readiness and industrialization initiatives for NPIs.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and milestones to meet internal and external deliverables.
Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers.
Ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations, quality standards, and readiness requirements.
Monitor project status and escalate risks or issues as necessary.
Facilitate the resolution of technical, supply chain, and production challenges.
Conduct supplier assessments, evaluate capabilities, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Drive supplier accountability to achieve delivery and performance targets.
Support manufacturing process implementation, including tooling, equipment, and documentation readiness.
Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence within the supply base.
Essential Skills
5–10 years of experience as a Supplier Manager.
Proven experience managing industrialization and NPI phases.
Strong knowledge of supplier development, procurement, and production readiness.
Experience in manufacturing.
Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and project tracking tools.
Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel extensively (50% of the time).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PMP and SCM designations are a plus.
Previous experience managing a team is advantageous.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards and aerospace industry practices.
Experience with APQP, PPAP, FAI, and production ramp-up methodologies.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
A track record of leading cross-functional teams and holding suppliers accountable.
Comfortable working in chaotic environments.
Work Environment
The role involves significant travel, approximately 50% of the time, to locations including Montreal, England, and other parts of Europe. The successful candidate will be based ideally in Ontario. The team currently consists of two members, and you will be reporting within a structured yet dynamic environment. The company offers three weeks of vacation, five personal days (three paid and two unpaid), ten paid sick days, full benefits after 90 days, and an RSP contribution of 4% after six months.
