Currently, our office is seeking a Design Coordination Manager with a Civil background to join our team in downtown Toronto. This position will be to work on projects for Rail transit infrastructure (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars, subway extensions etc.(candidates must be local to be considered).
This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week minimum in office
Responsibilities of the job:
Assist Design Manager in all tasks related with the development of construction documents required for a Projects
Support in the monthly reporting for the supervision of the Design Managers
Monitor Design Schedule, track deliverable dates and prepare look-ahead schedule for approval of the Design Manager
Assist discipline leads to identify design issues and prepare RFIs to send to the client as required
Support Design Manager in the identification of Early Warnings to Clients when in knowledge of an event that can cause additional cost or schedule.
Coordinate with Project Document Control Manager to ensure the submissions have been timely actioned
Provide appropriate meeting minute records required by the Design Manager
Candidate should be familiar with local design codes, drawing preparation standards etc.
Must Research into available design standards, requirements, literature to support design decision making
Requirements:
4-6 years of experience as an Engineer (CivilStructural) or Architect, including alignment (mandatory) familiar with various Ontario-market clients' design standards
Experience as an Assistant Project Manager is an asset
Rail & Transit experience a strong asset and is preferred
P.Eng. or OAA registration is an asset
Available to attend an office in greater Toronto area (3-4 days per week)
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, partners, contractors, etc.
