Job Description What is the opportunity? The Client Experience and Digital Design (CXDD) team at RBC Insurance is seeking a Manager, User Experience Research to design and lead user research initiatives aimed at enhancing how clients and advisors interact with RBC Insurance’s digital products and services. In this role, you will plan and conduct studies of moderate to high complexity, turning research into insights that shape design and product decisions. Your work will contribute to making servicing easier, reducing friction, and improving clarity for both clients and advisors. As a key collaborator, the manager partners closely with designers, product owners, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure that evidence, not assumption, drives experience design across RBC Insurance’s digital ecosystem. What will you do? Plan and conduct single stage user research to evaluate concepts, prototypes, and live experiences for client and advisor users. Select and apply suitable methods such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, card sorting, or tree testing to answer specific design and product questions. Coordinate research recruitment. Identify target participant groups, manage outreach, schedule sessions, and track participation. Create research readouts that tell a clear story for stakeholders, with practical recommendations. Partner with designers, product owners, and journey teams to embed research findings in design decisions and backlogs. Maintain research artifacts and help build a reusable body of knowledge for advisor What will you need to succeed? Must-have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Design, Human Factors, or a related field. 2 to 5 years of experience in UX research. Practical experience with common research methods and tools, including usability testing, A/B testing, interviews, surveys, card sorting, and tree testing. Strong analysis skills. Able to turn raw notes and recordings into themes, insights, and recommendations. Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to tailor messages for designers, product owners, product managers, and business stakeholders. Experience working on cross functional teams in an Agile or iterative delivery environment. Nice-to-have Ability to choose the right method for the research question at hand. Experience supporting both discovery research and evaluative research. Experience with research repositories or knowledge management (nice-to-have) Able to manage several requests and deadlines at once in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency with standard office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). What's in it for you?
