GFL is looking for a Full-Time Lead Hand to support our operations in Niagara Falls, ON. They are responsible for reporting to the Field Supervisor on a day-to-day basis with overall responsibility under the Marine & Industrial Superintendent. Serve as acting supervisor during supervisor absences. Responsible for setting up washing equipment, pumps, and job site preparation. Key Responsibilities: · Represent the Company in a professional and respectful manner while dealing with customers, sub-contractors, regulatory bodies and the public · Provide job specific operational and procedural training to labour staff · Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental compliance is always maintained on work sites · Participating in the Company on-call system as scheduled or required · Perform tasks including but not limited to degreasing, pressure washing, tank cleaning, setting up and tearing down equipment · Trouble shooting a variety of tools and machines such as pressure washers and electric and pneumatic pumps · Note: Travel is required and may require overnight travel up to two (2) weeks in a hotel or sailing on a ship at any one time Knowledge, Skills, Competencies: · High School diploma or equivalent is required · A minimum of a “G” license is mandatory · Supervisory experience is considered a definite asset · Experience in the marine industry and/or working on industrial job sites is considered a definite asset · Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines GFL Benefits: · An environment to encourage professional growth and development · Be a part of the Full-Cycle Project initiative – a way to give back to the community · We thank you for your interest.
