General Manager
Exeter Golf Club
Location: Exeter, Ontario
Reports To: Regional Manager
Classification: Full Time. (Must be available to work any shift, including early mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays.)
Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all clubhouse activities, including the supervision of the Food & Beverage department, Pro Shop, and special events. The facility features a 9-hole golf course, a unique Barn Restaurant with two patios, and an on-site guest house. The property operates seasonally from April 1 to November 1. As a GolfNorth employee, you may occasionally be required to support additional responsibilities at other GolfNorth properties within the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
• Ensure the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and operational protocols.
• Schedule, train, and supervise staff across the clubhouse, pro shop, and food & beverage departments.
• Hire, train, and coach team members in accordance with GolfNorth’s policies and guidelines.
• Promote and plan all in-house events and activities.
• Enforce company policies and maintain a safe environment for guests and associates in accordance with GolfNorth’s Health & Safety standards.
• Maintain up-to-date training certifications through online modules.
• Oversee all Food & Beverage operations, including ordering supplies, managing inventory, and controlling costs.
• Perform additional duties as required, including support at other nearby GolfNorth properties.
• Work closely with the Regional Manager (or designate) to ensure the smooth execution of company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• College diploma or equivalent related to the hospitality industry.
• 3-5 years experience working within the hospitality industry at a management level.
• Must be self motivated to work as a team member and be able to work independently.
• Strong passion for providing exceptional customer service.
• Smart Serve and Food Handler certification required.
• Proficient with POS systems and Food & Beverage programs.
