Who we need
The Senior Risk Analyst plays a key role in strengthening Securian Canada’s overall risk posture. In this role, you will proactively identify, assess, monitor, and help mitigate internal and external risks, ensuring they align with Securian Canada’s Risk Appetite, as well as its risk framework, policies, and guidelines.
You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote a strong risk culture, enhance governance, and support operational resilience across the organization.
What you will do
Lead and coordinate the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of enterprise and operational risks, issues, and events. This includes risk control self-assessments, incident reviews, stress-testing scenarios, and other core Enterprise and Operational Risk Management activities;
Oversee third-party risk management across the full vendor lifecycle, ensuring alignment with internal frameworks, policies, and standards;
Lead the third-party due diligence process by coordinating security reviews, vendor questionnaires, and assessments in collaboration with vendors, Third-Party Risk Management, and business owners;
Participate in vendor meetings to evaluate new and existing vendors, support issue resolution, and monitor emerging risks or trends in accordance with the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Framework;
Develop and/or support the implementation of service agreements (SLAs), service level objectives (SLOs), KPIs and other contractual mechanisms to manage risk, ensure service continuity, and enhance operational effectiveness;
Monitor and test TPRM processes to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including operational resilience and cyber risk oversight;
Exercise sound judgment and discretion in managing confidential information, stakeholder communications, and escalation of issues when appropriate;
Administer the third-party risk management system, including subscription/service renewals, verification of service requirements, and maintenance of user access and profiles;
Prepare, update, and report third-party risk indicators and performance metrics (KPIs) on a quarterly and annual basis for senior leadership.
What you will bring
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business, finance, or a related field;
4-7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or risk management, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry;
Experience in enterprise or operational risk management in either the first or second line of defense;
Technical Knowledge
Advanced understanding of industry practices, regulatory expectations, and emerging trends, including OSFI Guidelines E-21 and B-10;
Strong ability to work with multiple systems and manage third-party risk platforms;
Core Competencies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and gain cooperation without direct authority;

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and accuracy in risk assessment and reporting;
