Temporary position for 12 months As a purchasing and procurement technician, you help purchase or rent goods and services for the organization. You may be responsible for one or more sub-specialties, such as the sourcing and procurement of goods and services, asset management, contract and partnership management, inventory and restocking, outsourced service management, and governance. You serve as technical expert and provide discipline-specific support for your unit’s activities, initiatives and processes. The ability to tailor your approach as needed is therefore essential. You research and analyze processes, information management and data processing. You draw on your sound decision-making skills to solve technically complex problems and recommend ways to change or adjust methods and procedures to make them as effective and efficient as possible. You serve as resource person for practitioners and unit employees. More specifically, you will be required to: Provide technical support for projects and complex operational issues. Submit solutions and action plans and take corrective action as needed Carry out specialized technical studies, research and analysis. Analyze procurement and purchasing needs Coordinate activities.
