PURCHASING CLERK
We are currently looking for an experienced Purchasing Clerk who will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services related to the day-to-day purchasing activities within WorkplaceNL. The purchasing clerk will source products, obtain quotes, issue administrative purchase orders, complete administrative and claims services change orders and maintain inventory control. The Purchasing Clerk is also responsible for maintenance of vendor information within WorkplaceNL’s information systems.
Role Responsibilities
Maintaining effective relationships with internal departments and requestors, as well as external vendors of WorkplaceNL.
Contacting suppliers to schedule delivery and resolving any shortages and missed deliveries.
Identifying issues with returned payments and vendor statements and providing feedback to vendors.
Working with accounts payable to process and reconcile invoices as necessary.
Ensuring continuity and consistency of policy, procedure and legislation as they apply to the procurement of goods and services.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Two-year Business Administration Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, complemented by a minimum of two years’ experience in purchasing, inventory control or supply chain.
Knowledge of the Public Procurement Act, Regulations and Policy.
Knowledge of WorkplaceNL Legislation, Regulations, Policies and Procedures.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; strong organizational and analytical skills, along with the ability to work well within a team environment.
Independent judgment, analytical and decision-making skills required.

Being effective in dealing with a variety of stakeholders and ensuring that problems are addressed in an effective and timely manner.
Experience and an educational equivalency will be considered.
