Overview
Adastra is hiring a Platform Engineering Consultant with deep expertise in IBM OpenShift and Kubernetes to enable scalable, secure solutions for a leading client’s Data Science ecosystem. This role combines platform engineering, automation, and collaboration with data science teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
Location: Toronto
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
Status: Contract
Responsibilities:
Architect and maintain containerized environments leveraging IBM OpenShift and Kubernetes
Optimize storage solutions including S3 and Netezza (NZ) for performance and scalability
Automate workflows and develop tools using Python and Shell scripting to streamline operations
Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to ensure seamless integration within the Data Science ecosystem
Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance platform performance, reliability, and security
Contribute to DevOps best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience with IBM OpenShift and Kubernetes in enterprise environments
Proficiency in S3, Netezza (NZ), and scripting languages (Python, Shell)
Strong understanding of container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures
Familiarity with Dataiku or similar data science platforms is highly desirable
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
Knowledge of additional data engineering tools and frameworks
