Investing In Neighbourhoods - Eligibility Criteria
To apply for job opportunities through the Investing in Neighbourhoods Program, interested candidates must be OW participants living in Toronto. Investing in Neighbourhoods job opportunities are in not for profit community organizations and enable OW participants to: increase their skill level, develop contacts with employers, and obtain references with the goal of securing permanent employment.

Job Title: Drop In Worker $14.00- $15.00/hour 28 hours/week for 52 weeks
Job Description:
Provide back-up & support to the staff team to ensure that agency is a safe & welcoming space
Work as part of the staff team to assist clients with housing, income support, information & referrals
Assist individual clients with counselling, support & advocacy
Conduct group facilitation & conflict resolution
Assist with outreach to the broader community & partners
Support the agency kitchen/food program as required
Guide volunteers in their assigned duties
Maintain accurate daily records
Requirements / Qualifications:
Must be an Ontario Works (OW) participant living in Toronto
Must not have completed an Investing in Neighbourhoods (IIN) position previously
Previous experience working in a community or social service agency, or related studies at a post-secondary level
Knowledge of the social service sector & community based resources
Good written & oral communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
An understanding of social justice
Sensitivity to people who experience poverty, marginalization or discrimination
