SUMMARY The role of the Community Outreach Specialist is to solicit silent auction item donations for the annual Steve Young Ski Classic (SYSC) benefitting Wasatch Adaptive Sports. The goal of the role is to bring in silent auction donations, which will be used for programming and scholarships. WHAT YOU’LL DO Under the direction of the Development Coordinator and support of the Event Specialist, callers will be responsible for the following: Make solicitation calls utilizing the master SYSC auction solicitation spreadsheet database Calls will be made to three target audiences: Organizations that have donated in the past Organizations that have never donated Organizations that came to WAS through another channel, e.g., Ski Utah and the Outdoor Retail Show Make the required number of solicitation calls on an hourly basis Document calls in the master spreadsheet Update organization contact details in the database, e.g., name, address, phone, and email, in spreadsheets and/or a CRM system Include comprehensive call notes for others to reference and clearly understand Send follow-up emails after each call, reinforcing objectives, sharing information, and engaging individuals for the WAS cause WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE A passion for making outdoor recreation more inclusive and accessible Diligence and patience, making call after call after call A curious passion for connecting in meaningful ways with others The ability to “share the WAS” story verbally and in writing as concisely as possible Commitment to detail and follow-up within the database for individual organizations Ability to work in Google Mail, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel Ability to cut and paste documents into an email WORK SCHEDULE 7-15 hours per week This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the role.
