Job Description
The Critical Care attending physician is responsible for care of patients in the Critical Care Units at Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital as well as providing Critical Care Response Team (CCRT) physician coverage at both sites.
Accountabilities:
Provide critical care physician coverage for the Intensive Care Units at Brampton Civic and Etobicoke General
Provide critical care response team physician coverage for Brampton Civic and Etobicoke General
Supervise medical trainees
About the program:
The Intensive Care Unit at the Brampton Civic site is a 24-bed medical-surgical unit and a 13-bed step down unit. The Intensive Care Unit at Etobicoke General is a combined medical-surgical Coronary Care Unit, with 15 dedicated critical care beds. These Intensive Care Units feature a talented multidisciplinary care team working in a patient-centred environment providing support to the medical, oncology, nephrology, surgical and interventional radiology services. The Intensive Care Units also supports a 24/7 CCRT. This is a corporate position with responsibilities at both sites.
Qualifications
Certificate of registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Certification in Critical Care from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or hold a fellowship in Critical Care from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada preferred
Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population)
