Detailed OverviewReporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations and in accordance with the mission, values and goals of Fraser Health, the Receptionist/Cashier provides secretarial and clerical support including reception, switchboard, admitting and cashier duties.
Responsibilities
- Performs receptionist duties by operating a switchboard, receiving visitors, providing information and directing individuals to appropriate areas. Monitors access/egress to the main entrance. Intervenes as appropriate and/or alerts security in order to protect the safety of clients and staff.
- Performs admitting/discharge duties by entering information into the ADT system. Completes all admitting and eligibility documentation and maintains related records.
- Receives monies for clients' comfort fund accounts and issues receipts; forwards funds received and invoices such as hairdressing, podiatry, etc. to finance for processing.
- Maintains and balances petty cash float in accordance with established procedures and makes disbursements as required. Submits all documentation to finance for processing.
- Prepares and types material such as reports, minutes, letters and forms.
- Completes statistical reporting and maintenance of records and distributes reports as per established procedures.
- Receives requests for vacation and leaves of absence and forwards to appropriate authority for approval. Arranges for relief staffing according to pre-determined guidelines.
- Maintains stationary and supplies levels by monitoring stock, preparing stores requisitions and restocking supplies when delivered.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation and ExperienceGrade 12 and one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
