The co-op student will be a part of the Financial Planning & Analysis Transformation project team and participate in design and implementation of new tools for Global FP&A function to use as part of our forecasting and planning processes. The students will support the project's objectives to create efficiency and ease in our processes. There will be opportunities to develop technical proficiency in Excel, Essbase, Power BI, Anaplan, Alteryx, as well as hone transferrable skills of collaboration, communication, and self-management. Position Responsibilities: - Supporting Manulife’s financial planning & analysis transformation – implementing Anaplan and Power BI as tools in our forecasting and planning processes - Involvement in design investigations, sprint testing, and user training on Anaplan and Power BI implementations - Providing project management support – facilitating agile method ceremonies, communicating project updates and timelines to peers and senior management - Develop business acumen and process knowledge through involvement in transformation project - More experienced students may have opportunity to participate in financial planning process, supporting Group FP&A in preparing the company’s financial plan for senior management and the Board of Directors Required Qualifications: - University student pursuing major in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or other related field - Strong self-starter with willingness to learn - Enjoys dynamic, fast-paced environments with unstructured and non-routine tasks that require creative thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration Preferred Qualifications: - Intermediate Excel proficiency is an asset (XLOOKUP, Pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH, conditional formatting) - Prior experience with data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and data transformation/query (Alteryx, SQL) would be valuable bonus When you join our team: We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
