Human Resources Exemption: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment, and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with the Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and Bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures, and work standards.

Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Current Basic Life Support-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(BLS-CPR) certification Competencies Communication skills Interpersonal skills Listening skills Basic - Computer skills Conflict resolution skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Ability to exhibit situational awareness Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Physical ability to perform the duties of the position Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Ability to be resilient Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP)
