Job Description: The Senior MSW provides clinical and administrative supervision to other social workers; is accountable for the work for those they supervise, coordinating their performance appraisals, and for recommendations in selection of staff to be hired. The Senior MSW maintains an administrative overview of the group they supervise, and makes recommendations to the Manager about systems issues. The Senior MSW has responsibility for professional psycho-social assessment and intervention in very complex situations with chronic issues pre-dating current health concerns. The position requires advanced assessment and intervention skills for work with individuals, families and groups, in issues involving social, emotional and instrumental aspects. The Senior MSW exercises a range of intervention skills related to a number of conceptual models. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Two years experience with social work practice in a medical setting
Experienced in medical terminology
Previous supervisory experience preferred
