Your Opportunity at SECURE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to lead customer relationships, operational performance, and commercial growth for our Specialty Chemicals business line. In this role, you will own a portfolio of accounts, strengthen customer partnerships, and collaborate closely with technical experts and field operations to deliver reliable, high-quality chemical solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to influence strategy, drive meaningful business results, and play a key leadership role within a growing and high-performing team.
This role is based out of Whitecourt, Alberta
The Team
You will join a highly engaged team that values expertise, innovation, and operational excellence. We work collaboratively across functions to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for our customers. As a senior member of the team, you will provide mentorship, support best practices, and help shape customer and product strategies.
Work Environment
This is a full-time role based in the Whitecourt region, requiring regular field presence and local travel. You will work directly with customers, operations, supply chain, technical specialists, and leadership to ensure seamless service and strategic account management.
A Day in The Life
As a Senior Account Manager, you will be accountable for the performance and growth of your territory and customer portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
Leading customer relationship management, ensuring high service standards and deep understanding of customer operating needs.
Owning account strategy, including forecasting, business planning, and performance reporting.
Driving new business development and identifying opportunities to expand SECURE’s Specialty Chemicals footprint.
Overseeing product delivery, inventory planning, and service execution in partnership with operations and supply chain.
Conducting field evaluations, product testing, and performance reviews to support technical recommendations and product optimization.
Preparing and delivering technical reports, value-proposition presentations, and commercial updates.
Monitoring competitive activity and market trends to guide pricing strategies and account positioning.
Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members, supporting capabilities and succession development.
Leading safety engagements, site visits, and community involvement activities as a representative of SECURE.
Reporting weekly on account performance, customer activity, and emerging commercial opportunities.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
A post-secondary degree or diploma in Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
5+ years of experience in production chemicals, oil & gas field operations, or technical sales, ideally with direct account ownership.
Demonstrated success in strategic account management, including planning, forecasting, and delivering on growth targets.
Strong technical acumen related to production chemicals, field troubleshooting, and operational processes.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with customers and internal stakeholders.
Strong business insight with the ability to identify, quantify, and articulate value to customers.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations
Nice to have:
Previous exposure to oil and gas operations or industrial environments
Basic knowledge of chemical handling or laboratory testing.
