The opportunity:
The Supervisor of Membership Sales and Service. The Supervisor of Membership Sales and Service is responsible for producing and maintaining strong membership growth and exceptional customer service.
In this role, you will:
Achieve weekly, monthly and annual sales targets by ensuring that all Sales and Service staff are asking perspective members to join the YMCA.
Recruit, train, schedule and evaluate an exceptional team of sales and service representatives. Develop a culture of exceptional customer service through ongoing staff training and development.
Regularly monitor and assess and staff performance against SAM Standards and weekly sales targets. Take action where applicable.
Develop and manage a membership budget based on the annual business cycle in cooperation with the General Manager.
Work closely with Centre and Association Department Heads to ensure that information is accurately communicated to the public through a well-informed service staff team.
Maintain a high level of retention among qualified, high performing staff and volunteers through ongoing coaching, development and mentoring.
Support and work as part of a senior staff team to ensure that all members’ YMCA experience is a positive one.
Work closely with all departments to ensure that front line staff members are well trained and performing transactions accurately. Ensure that administrative duties are conducted in an efficient and timely manner.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of registration and financial systems. Work closely with Finance and I.T. staff to ensure that systems are operating accurately and efficiently.
Maintain a front line presence during day, evening and weekend hours by working regular desk shifts as planned or assigned.
Maintain an efficient flow of information to ensure that staff, members and volunteers are well informed.
Ensure that sales and service staff communicate all deficiencies in a clear and timely manner. Personally forward deficiencies to the appropriate staff person for quick resolution.
Act as Manager on Duty as assigned.

Adult Engagement and IC Level # 1 Certification
Emergency Training
Manager on Duty Training
Current CPR and First Aid
Child Protection orientation
Willingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including:
AODA Training
Health & Safety Awareness Training
Bill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) Training
PCI Compliance
