Quality Manager – Drive Process, Improve Performance, and Lead Change
Location: Sydney, Nova Scotia
Term: Full Time, Permanent
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Type: In Office
Full transparency: we work a little differently around here.
This isn’t a place where you show up, punch a clock, and coast.
We show up because we want our work to mean something. Too many people go through the motions at jobs that don’t challenge them, grow them, or give them a sense of purpose. That’s not us.
At Protocase, your ideas matter—because they shape our future. We thrive on collaboration and common-sense problem solving. If you want to be part of a team where your work has impact, where people genuinely care, and where innovation is the norm, we should talk.

About the Opportunity
Let’s address the title head-on: “Quality Manager” doesn’t quite capture what we’re looking for.
We want someone who:
Isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves
Knows that great quality starts with great process
Understands the challenge of high-variety manufacturing (HVMC)
Can zoom out to see the whole system—and then zoom in to fix what’s broken
Believes in clear procedures, trained leaders, and accountability
Can influence change from both the top down and the bottom up
You’ll have access to production management, R&D, engineering—anyone you need. Your success will be measured on quality performance and NCR reduction, and your impact will be felt across the entire organization.
If you’re someone who can cut through the noise, get to the root cause, and build processes that make it hard to get things wrong, you’ll thrive here.
What You’ll Do
Lead the development and execution of our quality strategy.
Analyze feedback and production trends to identify root causes—not symptoms.
Build and improve processes that eliminate recurring issues.
Work with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that actually work.
Focus on high-impact improvements instead of chasing every detail.
Maintain and strengthen ISO 9001, AS9100D, and other compliance elements.
Help drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
About You
You are driven, practical, and systems-minded.
You understand process work at a fundamental level, and you like to make things simple, repeatable, and difficult to get wrong.
You can see the big picture, but you also know when to dive in and sort out the details.
You value structure, clear communication, and doing things properly.
You’ll succeed here if you:
Have a degree/diploma in engineering, quality management, or related experience
Have 5+ years in quality, process improvement, or operations leadership
Naturally understand process and can break work into simple, logical steps
Think in systems and can see how processes connect
Have strong analytical skills—you know what matters and what doesn’t
Communicate clearly and lead change with influence, not force
Are familiar with ISO 9001, AS9100D, and lean/Six Sigma (an asset)
Are results-driven and comfortable with accountability
