The Cardiac Vascular Imaging Team supports 4 cardiac catheterization labs, 2 Arrhythmia Labs within the EP/HIU Programs at the General Site. The interdisciplinary team comprises cardiologists, critical care nurses, technicians and cardiac vascular medical radiation technologists. Interventions include left and right heart catheterizations and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent insertion, Valvuloplasty, transcutaneous aortic valve implantation. The Arrhythmia Services Program at the General site supports care of patients requiring electrophysiology studies and cardiac ablations, permanent pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillators and cardioversion.
- Graduate of an approved training program in Radiological Technology
- Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists
- Current BCLS registration
- Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment
- Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
- Evidence of participation in on-going education and professional development
- Membership in the CAMRT/OAMRT preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience preferred
- Must successfully complete critical practice orientation and core classes
- Must successfully complete ECG Rhythm Interpretation
