Treewalk is searching for a confident, decisive leader to oversee and grow our controllership group. Our ideal candidate brings hands-on controllership experience and thrives in an environment where judgment, ownership, and team leadership matter as much as technical skill.
As Senior Manager of Controllership Services, you will lead a team of controllers and assistant controllers supporting a wide portfolio of public and private companies. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, driving operational discipline, coaching team members toward stronger technical judgment, and building the systems and structure needed to scale a rapidly growing practice.
This role requires calm confidence, clear communication, and the ability to navigate complexity with sound, timely decision-making. You will frequently manage escalations, supervise month-end cycles, and guide your team through challenging client situations. You are comfortable giving direct feedback, setting expectations, and building a high-performance team culture.
With the controllership group expanding quickly, your daily work will include:
Leading, coaching, and developing a team of assistant controllers and controllers
Overseeing month-end close cycles and reviewing full-cycle accounting deliverables
Managing escalations and providing clear technical and operational guidance
Hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
Driving process improvements and standardization across controllership operations
Managing resource allocation, capacity planning, and related administrative responsibilities
Ensuring audit-ready working papers and consistently high-quality client deliverables
You approach complex decisions objectively, communicate clearly, and lead with consistency and fairness. You hold yourself and others accountable, enforce discipline in documentation and processes, and build trust by following through on commitments. You thrive in environments where operational rigor and strong leadership directly impact outcomes.
If you are a confident leader seeking the opportunity to build and run a high-growth controllership team, we invite you to join Treewalk and help shape the future of our controllership services.
As an ideal candidate, you possess the following:

Who We Are
Treewalk is an advisory practice based out of downtown Vancouver specializing in financial reporting and corporate services for public companies. We offer clients a complete service package to assist them in timely and accurate disclosures. Our clients are from all industry sectors and are issuers on the TSX-V, CSE, NASDAQ, and the OTC.
We are one of the fastest growing accounting firms in Canada, and we’ve got some big goals that are going to send us to the top. We are a firm with an anti-firm culture - think tech startup, but accounting. We’re ditching the traditional top-down management hierarchy approach and are leaning into a holacratic system of organizational governance. We are on a journey to become the go-to training place for accountants of all levels who want to work in industry. Our accounting practice specializes in assisting public companies with their financial reporting and accounting needs, and we help private companies navigate the waters of going and staying public. When it comes to clients, we are industry-agnostic. We never shy away from clients in new and emergent industries, and we’ve worked with companies in e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, cannabis, mining, and biotechnology, to name a few. We’ve got a lot on the go, and as far as we’re concerned, the only barrier to reaching our goals is finding exceptional talent to keep building out our team.
