The Project Manager, Trade Support Optimization leads cross-functional initiatives that enhance governance, streamline processes, and strengthen workforce capability across Operations, HR, and BTS. This role oversees the implementation of key process and system improvements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a deep understanding of change management and operational excellence.
Note: This is a 12-month limited term employment with eligible benefits and 4 weeks’ vacation. This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
Lead the implementation of key recommendations from the Trade Support Optimization review, including process standardization, governance structure, capability development, and system improvements.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across Operations, HR, and BTS to deliver against project milestones, scope, and timelines.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables. Monitor progress and proactively address risks, dependencies, and resourcing gaps.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress against objectives such as improved alignment, reduced duplication, and enhanced workforce capability.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input, validate process improvements, and drive change adoption.
Partner with senior leaders and HRBPs to clarify roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities through updated RACI structures and process documentation.
Partner with OCM on change management activities, including communications, stakeholder engagement, and training plans to support adoption of new standards and governance models.
Support data and technology initiatives by coordinating system integration, consolidation of tools, and deployment of dashboards and analytics.
Prepare and present regular status reports, highlighting progress, risks, and recommendations for executive decision-making.
Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied to future optimization efforts.
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Human Resources, or a related discipline (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience, preferably within operations, HR, or organizational transformation initiatives.
PMP or related project management certification considered an asset.
Strong understanding of organizational design, process improvement, and change management principles.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects involving HR, Operations, and technology teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence and collaborate across levels.
Proficiency in project planning tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) and data visualization/reporting tools (Power BI, Excel).
Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and recommend sustainable solutions.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Knowledge of governance frameworks, capability frameworks, and workforce planning an asset.

The estimated salary for this position is $135,000 - $165,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
