Job Summary: The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at Syntax plays a crucial role in designing and implementing robust analytical solutions that drive business performance. This position is responsible for leading the development of data integration pipelines, mentoring team members, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data-driven insights. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable specifications, ultimately enhancing the decision-making capabilities of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in and lead business requirements and design review sessions.
Design and configure analytical models, dimensions, hierarchies, and data actions.
Build and maintain data integration pipelines between SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and source systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, SuccessFactors).
Lead and mentor the team by providing guidance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring successful delivery of data solutions while managing team performance and professional development.
Prepare functional and technical documentation, including configuration guides, test scripts, and user guides.
Develop, test, and troubleshoot data actions, allocations, multi-actions, and predictive forecasts in SAC.
Oversee data validation, reconciliation, and accuracy checks between source systems and SAC.
Apply best practices for performance optimization of models and reports.
Ensure security, data access controls, and role assignments are properly configured in SAC.
Collaborate with business stakeholders during workshops to gather requirements and translate them into clear, actionable functional specifications.
Assist with developing estimates and describing solutions during the proposal process.
Conduct root cause analysis in the context of production support responsibilities.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of experience developing Business Intelligence (BI) and analytical solutions.
At least 2 years of experience utilizing SAP Datasphere and SAP Analysis for Office to implement complex analytical solutions that access data from multiple sources.
Experience creating extract/transform/load (ETL) processes from data sources, including SAP S/4 and MS SQL Server.
Solid experience in projects involving S/4HANA with Datasphere/SAC landscape.
Proven experience in developing complex data models.
Deep knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud Planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA title is considered an asset.
Experience in financial reporting structures.
Skilled in utilizing SQL and/or Python to meet complex business requirements.
Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
Well-developed analytical troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable interfacing with end users.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics are a plus.
