Learn more: silent-aire.com THIS IS A 2 YEAR TERM CONTRACT THAT ENDS SEPTEMBER 2027 What You Do The Contract Manufacturing Engineer will lead short-term optimization projects aimed at improving productivity, reducing cycle times, and enhancing quality across assembly and fabrication processes. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong analytical skills and experience in lean manufacturing who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. How You Will Do It · Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks · Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity assessments · Develop and implement process improvements using lean principles and best practices · Optimize assembly line layouts and material flow for improved throughput · Collaborating with Continuous Improvement (CI) teams on cost reduction and ROI analysis · Recommend tooling, fixture, and equipment changes to support efficiency gains · Document revised processes and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) · Train production staff in new methods and ensure smooth implementation · Monitor and report on project progress, KPIs, and achieved savings · Support quick-turn projects for layout changes and resource allocation · Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during optimization activities What We Look For Required: · 6+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering · 6+ years in an engineering role with design and/or construction responsibilities · Strong understanding of engineering principles · Excellent verbal and presentation skills · Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders · Knowledge of Canadian engineering standards and relevant codes · Strong problem-solving and analytical skills · Experience in welding engineering, including process development and quality assurance · Proficiency in mathematical methods for engineering applications · Ability to develop alternative solutions to complex problems · Strong time and project management skills · Independent judgment and decision-making ability · Understanding of company policies and procedures · Cost management experience · Willingness to work in a shop environment with adherence to safety protocol Preferred: · Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) from APEGA or eligibility to apply · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering · Experience in data-driven decision-making and ROI calculations · Familiarity with welding processes and assembly operations HIRING SALARY RANGE: $73,000 - $106,000 CAD (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
