As a Senior Product Manager, you will shape the strategic direction and execution of a highly scalable, distributed database platform. You will work at the intersection of OLTP systems, high-availability architectures, and modern application development, translating complex technical requirements into a clear product roadmap. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, developer communities, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet enterprise needs while advancing open-source innovation. You will drive initiatives from concept to launch, manage the product backlog, and define technical specifications for distributed systems. Your work will directly influence the performance, reliability, and adoption of critical data infrastructure used by organizations worldwide. Strong technical expertise combined with product vision will enable you to identify market opportunities and ensure the platform meets evolving customer demands.
Accountabilities:
· Define and communicate the product strategy and vision for distributed database, OLTP, and high-availability solutions.
· Manage and prioritize the product backlog, making data-driven trade-offs between feature development, architectural improvements, and technical debt.
· Translate product vision into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and specifications for engineering teams.
· Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to support go-to-market strategies, technical content, demos, and enablement materials.
· Identify and manage strategic partnerships with technology vendors and ecosystem players to enhance integrations and expand market reach.
· Engage with developer communities to gather feedback and represent their needs in shaping the product roadmap.
· Align cross-functional teams across engineering, marketing, sales, and support, communicating progress and dependencies effectively.
Requirements
· 5+ years of professional product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on core database technologies.
· Strong technical background in database development, distributed systems, or equivalent BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
· Deep understanding of distributed database architectures, OLTP systems, high availability, and replication protocols.
· Proven success in launching enterprise software or SaaS products from concept to market adoption.
· Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data services is a plus.
· Familiarity with open-source software communities and engagement is highly desirable.
