What we are looking for: This is an exciting opportunity to join the Active and Strategic Fixed Income investment team (ASFI), a leading fixed income team with over $23.5 billion in assets under management and a strong track record in managing fixed income strategies. We are seeking a motivated Analyst, Fixed Income to support comprehensive credit analysis across corporate issuers, including both investment-grade and high-yield markets. This role offers hands-on exposure to credit research, rating methodologies, and issuer engagement. Your responsibilities: Conduct thorough internal credit analysis of corporate issuers, integrating financial metrics, balance sheet analysis, cash flow analysis, qualitative assessments, and market intelligence. Participate actively in internal credit committees, presenting recommendations and defending credit views. Meet directly with issuers and management teams to gather insights and assess creditworthiness. Monitor and interpret developments in the corporate credit market, including macroeconomic trends and sector-specific risks. Apply and critique methodologies from major credit rating agencies (DBRS, S&P, Fitch, Moody’s, Kroll) to inform internal ratings and investment decisions. Produce timely and insightful credit research reports, including issuer profiles, sector outlooks, and event-driven commentary. Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and risk teams to align credit views with investment strategies. Maintain and enhance credit models, scorecards, and monitoring tools. Must have requirements to be successful in this role: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s or CFA designation preferred). 2–5 years of experience in credit research, credit analysis, or fixed income investing. Strong knowledge of credit rating agency methodologies (DBRS, S&P, Fitch, Moody’s, Kroll). Knowledge of capital structure analysis and financial regulatory capital frameworks, particularly in banking and insurance sectors. Knowledge of CDS markets and relative value analysis techniques. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and financial databases. Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex credit views clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. Experience in global credit markets is a plus, bringing broader perspective to issuer analysis. Experience in high‑yield credit markets is a plus. Experience in securitization (ABS, CMBS, Project Finance) is a plus. Familiarity with LICAT (Life Insurance Capital Adequacy Test) framework considered a plus.
