Sleep Country Canada is looking for a Supply Chain Demand Planner who will support supply chain operations in a variety of exciting ways. The supply chain team works towards enabling better customer experience while remaining cost-efficient through supply chain objectives which include forecasting, demand and replenishment planning, inventory management, cost optimization, on-time shipping, customer satisfaction and cross-functional collaboration.
As the Supply Chain Demand Planner, you have the energy, drive, and experience to support our daily operations and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will be able to develop reports and analyze data sets, manage moving parts, fix issues, and enjoy working with various individuals, collaborating cross-functionally with other teams, and building relationships with vendors. Above all, you will play an integral part in ensuring our customers receive the best possible delivery experience.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Develop and refine demand forecasts using historical data and advanced forecasting methods.
Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to adjust forecasts.
Incorporate promotional activities and product launches into demand forecasts.
Place and manage purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers on lead times and delivery schedules.
Oversee inventory levels to prevent stockouts and excess stock, implementing optimization strategies.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to align forecasts with business goals.
Prepare and analyze reports on forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and demand trends.
Identify and implement process improvements for forecasting and inventory management.
Responsible for inventory control (Variance reconciliation, inventory updates, etc.)
Resolve issues daily through ad-hoc analysis, communication, and quick action
Assist with documenting processes
Regularly update and monitor operations metrics.
Qualifications
3-5 years experience in an operations or supply chain environment (bonus if it’s a startup!)
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
Advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel with the ability to create basic macros
Extremely analytical mindset with an investigative approach to situations
Comfortable with uncertainty and change in a dynamic work environment
Passion for problem-solving, investigating issues, and finding quick and realistic solutions
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to forge strong cross-functional relationships
Ability to skillfully manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience with ERP systems
Curious, high-energy, and a person of integrity
Experience with PowerPivot, Power BI, Big Query and SQL an asset
Engineering or data science background an asset
