Hours
This is a temporary position with the following estimated schedule:
January–February: Approximately 10 hours per week (Flexible days and hours)
April–June 12: Approximately 8–10 hours per week (Flexible days and hours)
June 12–August 7: Temporary full-time hours, Monday–Friday.
Summary
St. Margaret’s School is seeking an energetic and caring Camp Leader to plan, prepare, and implement quality program activities. The Camp Leader will engage students in themed activities that will inspire their talents, creativity, and interests. Working with Camp staff members, the position will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students and will communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.
This position is responsible for the planning, preparation and implementation of activities, set-up, and clean-up, and ensuring the well-being and safety of the participants.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee daily operations of all camp programs to ensure a safe, positive experience for participants.
Plan camp themes, schedules, and weekly program flow in coordination with camp leaders.
Manage registration, payments, and participant information on CampBrain.
Communicate with families, school staff, and camp leaders throughout each camp session.
Collaborate with camp leaders on planning, scheduling and weekly debriefs.
Supervise camp leaders, volunteers and seasonal staff.
Ensure completion of required checklists, documentation, and evaluation tools.
Prepare program materials and information packages for leaders, contractors, and volunteers.
Support end-of-season cleanup and program wrap-up.
Assist External Programs with Pro-D and Break Camp planning, including coordination of boarding house rentals, staffing, supplies, supervision of on-site activities, and communication with IT, Janitorial, and Maintenance teams as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications include:
Candidates should be 19 years of age or older.
Experience working with children in elementary school settings.
Post-secondary certificate in the field of Childcare or Education, or related field.
Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated childcare experience.
Current First Aid & CPR certification.
Strong creative and organizational skills.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Demonstrated supervisory experience.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word, and Google Suite.
Excellent oral/written communications skills.
