Daxtech IT Solutions is a people-centric IT firm in beautiful Victoria, BC. that partners with small and medium-sized businesses to keep their technology secure, reliable, and ready for growth. We actively seek to create an energizing workplace that brings out the best in all of us. We care deeply about doing the right thing, following through on our commitments, and having a positive impact on our clients and our community.
We’re now looking for our first in-house Marketing & Communications Coordinator, someone who’s excited to roll up their sleeves, shape our brand presence, and help tell the story of how Daxtech helps businesses thrive.
If you enjoy owning projects end-to-end, love both the creative and analytical sides of marketing, and like working closely with a tight-knit team, this could be a fantastic fit.
About the Role:
As our Marketing & Communications Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind Daxtech’s marketing and communications efforts. You’ll own basic marketing strategy and day-to-day execution, working closely with leadership and collaborating with our external website/SEO/Google Ads agency.
Your focus will be on:
Strengthening our web presence and digital footprint
Growing awareness of Daxtech in the local business community
Supporting sales and business development with content, campaigns, and materials
Helping to build and maintain a consistent, professional, and approachable brand
What You'll Be Doing:
Own and coordinate core marketing channels
Develop and execute a basic marketing plan aligned with business goals and leadership priorities.
Plan, write, and schedule 3–5 social media posts per week (primarily LinkedIn, with potential for other channels).
Coordinate website content updates (pages, landing pages, blogs) by working with our external web/SEO/Ads agency.
Support and help optimize SEO and Google Ads efforts in collaboration with our external provider.
Create and manage content
Produce or coordinate 4 blog posts per month that speak to our services, client challenges, and industry topics.
Create 1 client case study per month, collaborating with our team to gather stories, results, and quotes.
Plan and send monthly newsletter to keep clients and prospects informed and engaged.
Draft copy for marketing collateral such as one-pagers, presentations, event materials, and proposal support documents.
Ensure all content reflects a consistent, on-brand voice and clear messaging.
Support sales, partnerships, and events
Work with our Business Development and leadership teams on proposals, presentations, and sales collateral.
Coordinate basic partner marketing activities with key vendors and partners.
Help plan and promote events (e.g., webinars, podcasts, client sessions, community events) – approximately one event per quarter.
Assist with the planning, promotion, and light production support for podcasts and webinars.
Design, visual content, and media
Use tools like Canva (or similar) to design simple, on-brand visuals for social media, PDFs, and presentations.
Capture or coordinate photos and short videos at events, in-office, and with clients where appropriate.
Work with any external photographers, videographers, or designers when specialized work is needed.
Measure, learn, and improve
Monitor basic marketing metrics (website traffic, social engagement, email performance, campaign results) and provide simple regular summaries to leadership.
Help define and refine what success looks like for Daxtech’s marketing over time.
Bring forward ideas and recommendations based on data, feedback, and what you see working in the market.
What You Bring:
You don’t need to have done all of this before, but you should be comfortable owning projects, asking good questions, and learning as you go.
We’re looking for:
2–4 years of experience in marketing and/or communications, ideally in a B2B or professional services environment. Experience with IT or technology is a nice-to-have, not a requirement.
Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for web, email, social media, and more formal documents.
Hands-on experience managing social media for a business (ideally LinkedIn).
Familiarity with digital marketing fundamentals – e.g., websites, SEO, paid ads, and email marketing – and comfort collaborating with external agencies or vendors.
Basic design skills using tools like Canva or similar to create simple, clean, on-brand graphics and documents.
Comfort with photography and videography is an asset, especially for capturing content and supporting podcasts/webinars.
Highly organized, able to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines without dropping the ball.
Collaborative, curious, and comfortable working closely with leadership and other team members.
A self-starter who’s excited to be a “team of one” for marketing at first (with support from leadership and external partners).
Positive, professional, and solution-oriented.
Someone who takes ownership, does what they say they’ll do, and follows through.
Must Haves:
Reside in Greater Victoria, BC.
Able to work primarily on-site at our Victoria office, with limited hybrid flexibility.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Comfortable working at a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to attend occasional off-site events, meetings, or community activities.
Ability to pass a criminal record check.
We Offer:
Competitive pay, commensurate with experience.
Comprehensive benefits packages include Medical, Dental, and Vision.
Generous vacation policy starting at 3 weeks per year.
Education reimbursement to support your ongoing growth and development.
Company events & social hours – we like to have some fun together.
Free on-site parking at our Victoria office.
The opportunity to build and shape the marketing function at a growing IT company, with room to expand your role over time.
