OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Post Collection Operations, the Manager, Post Collection Operations - ON will work directly with post collection service providers and Circular Material’s (CM) Service Provider Reporting and Common Collection System teams to ensure all contract requirements are being met. In this role, the Manager, Post Collection Operations - ON will regularly meet with post collection service providers to discuss processing improvements and performance requirements/objectives, as well as visit Preconditioning Facilities throughout Ontario on a regular basis to ensure conformance to material management and processing requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops subject matter expertise on the regulatory requirements associated with the waste diversion regulation in Ontario.
Develops a deep understanding of the terms of the Agreements and Statements of Work for assigned common collection system and post-collection contracts.
With the support of the Specialist, Post Collection Operations, the Manager, Post Collection Operations – ON ensures day to day management of post collection contract requirements, meetings, agendas, and coordinating with internal and external teams to manage ongoing and outstanding action items.
Works in an integrated fashion with team members managing the Common Collection System, material quality, and auditing to ensure the system is functioning efficiently, effectively and meeting all regulatory requirements from the curb to final disposition.
Works closely with CMs marketing agents to ensure continuous movement of outbound commodities from CM’s network of Preconditioning Facilities to approved end-markets that meet all regulatory and due diligence requirements.
Identifies opportunities, implements and/or participates in studies and pilot projects testing alternative processing methods utilizing new and emerging innovative technologies.
Coordinates with the Product and Project Management team to assist in the development of the project plan and the annual calendar of critical contract events on behalf of Circular Materials Ontario to ensure adherence to contract and regulatory obligations.
Interfaces with other departments in the organization responsible for the administrative and financial aspects of the relationship such as reporting and payment.
Directly interfaces with post-collection partners to assist in the oversight of contracts, track and resolve inquiries and status and other miscellaneous interactions as directed by the Senior Manager, National Post Collection Operations.
Develops monthly facility performance reports for the Senior Manager, National Post Collection Operations and highlights key successes and challenges, recommends improvements to be initiated with service provides.
Develops monthly marketing highlights reports for the Senior Manager, National Post Collection Operations and highlights key successes and challenges, recommends market development needs and revenue-driven strategies for consideration.
Occasional CCS related data review including Receiving Facility troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Other duties may be required from time-to-time, including attendance at events, and third-party meetings as necessary.
Supervises, leads and supports other special projects, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
University/College degree in business, communications, environmental management, or project management.
Experience
5+ years of progressive communications and strategy development
5+ years of recycling materials experience including the operation and improvement of material recycling facilities and their processes.
5+ years of performance monitoring and operational improvement
Knowledge/Competencies/Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, Excel, Teams, and Jira.
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment where change, growth and innovation are a constant.
Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, with strength intact and diplomacy.
Experience working with a variety of distinct stakeholders including senior executives, service provider and municipal representatives of all levels.

Superior communication, facilitation and presentation skills that enables one to build trust and relationships quickly.

WORKING CONDITIONS
All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a home office environment.
This role requires occasional site visits to CM Toronto head office.
This role requires field work. As a result, there will be some variability in scheduling to accommodate operational needs.
Ability to travel.
Needs a valid driver's license.
