Location: London, Ontario, Canada (Relocation Required)
Junior Design & Certification Engineers report to the Manager, Design Engineering and are responsible for supporting scientific research, product development, and certification activities related to Diamond’s existing and new aeronautical products.
Responsibilities:
Junior Design & Certification Engineers are responsible for supporting intermediate, and senior engineers, and are responsible for the timely completion of assigned tasks
Support the implementation of type design and/or manufacturing process changes to improve, quality, safety, and performance of Diamond’s aeronautical products
Main Activities:
Investigate engineering change requests and support the classification of type design changes
Support the development of certification plans for changes to existing type designs
Support the preparation of test plans, analysis reports, design reviews and other substantiating documents
Prepare flight test change orders for test aircraft modifications and installation of test equipment
Support testing (ground & flight), support post-test analysis, prepare test reports
Support the preparation of compliance reports to document compliance to the regulations
Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, material, and process specifications
Support Continuing Airworthiness activities related to technical publications and occurrence investigations
Participate in research and development activities for new products or designs as required
Other duties as assigned
Experience:
Familiarity with Airworthiness Manual Chapter 523 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations
Experience with CATIA V5, AutoCAD / DraftSight, and Solid Edge
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Strong communication skills with experience in technical report writing
Assets:
Previous or current experience with a civil aviation authority
Enrollment in EIT program with PEO
Private Pilot Licence
Academic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position
Engineering Specialties:
Structures: Airframe / system stress, aircraft loads, dynamics and flutter, materials and processes
Mechanical: mechanical systems, powerplant, fuel and environmental systems
Avionics and Electrical: Avionics and electrical systems, Lightning effects protection, HIRF, EMC
