What you will be doing in the role of Project Manager:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Effectively initiating, planning and executing assigned projects of varying scope
Managing changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measuring project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Reporting and escalating issues, delays and/or critical information to management, as needed
Outlining the tasks involved in projects, delegating accordingly
Following up on delegated tasks and ensuring task assignment is appropriate to individual strengths and capabilities
Conducting cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
Preparing and implementing a budget based on estimates.
Conducting risk assessments, reporting identified risks to management, and providing recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate)
Addressing questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
Acting as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors.
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
A four-year degree in a related field with 36+ months of direct experience leading projects OR a diploma in a related field with 60+ months of direct experience leading projects
35+ hours of project management education/training OR CAPM Certification
Direct project management experience of automation and/or mechanical process solutions projects
Industry knowledge with experience in control systems, energy management and mechanical systems
Experience with software development lifecycle
Experience with Agile (scrum) methodologies
Experience with testing processes, tools, and techniques
knowledge of project management best practices, with a balanced approach to managing scope, cost, delivery, quality, and multiple stakeholders
Knowledge of product/hardware development cycle
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership skills, specifically ability to lead without authority
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Able to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
Completing assigned work with minimal supervision, but with the active support of other team members
Highly flexible and adaptable to work environments
Ability to take on challenges and to work in a fast-paced, cross-discipline environment, both independently and as a team-player
