This is a great introduction to orthodontics for registered dental assistants interesting in expanding their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Help in sterilization and turnover/cleaning of hygiene chairs between patients.
Document all sterilization cycles and as indicated by public health regulations.
Daily fabrication of retainers, pouring and trimming models.
Prepare and maintain all dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
Organize, clean, and maintain a clean and sterile clinical area.
Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation.
Perform any other tasks delegated or assigned by the Orthodontist or leadership team.
Possess great energy for a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
Lab/Sterilization Technician experience is considered an asset but not required. Dental Assistants interested in an entry level position in an orthodontic practice.
Experience with clinical sterilization practices also considered an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, an ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
Great time management and organizational skills. Physically capable of standing for prolonged periods of time.
