To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You'll Be Doing As the Consultant, Data Reporting and Process Governance, you will build strong relationships within the Chief Data Office (CDO) and across Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Functional Groups (FGs), supporting the advancement of enterprise data risk reporting and governance processes. You will manage the entire lifecycle of data risk metrics—from development and reporting to ongoing oversight—by defining calculation details, supporting threshold identification, and ensuring clear visual presentation for key audiences such as Executive Data Governance Councils and the CIBC Board. Additionally, you will conduct periodic reviews to keep metrics aligned with evolving business and regulatory needs, support the creation of enterprise-level metrics, and establish aggregate calculation methods. Your responsibilities include collecting and visually presenting data insights for executive stakeholders, and triggering oversight processes in response to metric breaches or exceptions. A key aspect of your role will be developing, managing, and overseeing governing processes within the CDO and in collaboration with SBUs and FGs. You will ensure all governing processes and related documentation are accurate, up to date, and compliant with policies, standards, and guidelines. Responsibilities include tracking process execution and exceptions, reporting on deliverables and roadmaps, formalizing and documenting processes, and driving continuous improvements to support enterprise data governance objectives. Collaboration with stakeholders across Business Units and the CDO is essential to support the development and management of metrics, reporting solutions, and governance processes. Success in this role requires a strong foundation in mathematics or statistics, experience in metrics creation and reporting, and proven skills in process documentation and governance. How You’ll Succeed Quantitative Analysis- You possess a solid understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts, enabling you to assist in identifying new metrics and supporting the definition of calculations. Metrics Development & Reporting- You have the ability to interpret complex information and assist in identifying patterns and trends in alignment with Data Governance and Data Management practices. You will support the development and technical implementation of metrics as the Product Owner to communicate the data risk landscape across the enterprise. You support the timely escalation and oversight process when metric thresholds are breached, ensuring transparency and accountability. You participate in the periodic review and refinement of metrics and their thresholds, ensuring ongoing relevance and alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements. Process Governance & Documentation- You support the development, formalization, and maintenance of governing processes and documentation, ensuring all policies, standards, and guidelines accurately reflect current practices. You oversee the execution of governance processes, track exceptions, and report on process adherence and deliverables. You identify opportunities for process improvement and drive enhancements to support robust data governance. Effective Communication- You demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to present information clearly, secure stakeholder support, and facilitate the adoption and ongoing management of metrics. Business Acumen- You possess a basic understanding of Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Risk Management practices, allowing you to contribute to assessments of business situations across various units and their impact on Metrics development, implementation, and management. Relationship Management- You build relationships within the Data Community across CIBC, engaging with Line of Business Data role holders and their teams to facilitate understanding, collaboration, and adoption of metrics and reporting solutions. Who You Are You are an experienced Data Analyst: You have a solid understanding of Data Analysis methodologies and principles, with a track record of contributing to impactful outcomes in data-related projects. You are a Metrics Developer: You have experience in identifying necessary data elements, supporting the development and technical implementation of metrics, and managing their ongoing relevance and effectiveness. You understand the importance of creating, collecting and periodically reviewing data to inform decision-making and maintain the integrity of KPIs and KRIs. You are a Process Governance Specialist: You are experienced in developing, documenting, and managing governing processes. You ensure all process documentation is baselined, accurate, and current, and monitor adherence to established standards and guidelines. You proactively track and report on process executions and exceptions, driving continuous improvement. You are an Analytical Thinker: You possess strong analytical skills and enjoy investigating complex problems. You are capable of translating detailed information into meaningful insights that drive action and support business objectives. You are Organized and Detail-Oriented. You leverage your planning and organizational skills to ensure timely and accurate delivery of commitments, effectively managing tasks and priorities throughout the metric lifecycle. You have Effective Communication skills: You demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to present information clearly and secure stakeholder support for the implementation of proposed metrics and ongoing management of BAU metrics.
