Position Overview
At FBM, we value skilled, safety-focused drivers who play a key role in our daily operations. This hybrid Class 1 Driver / Warehouse Worker position offers daily home time and a balanced mix of driving and warehouse responsibilities. All pickups are local within the Lower Mainland, and the role requires experience with B-train tractor–trailers, as well as forklift operation during yard/warehouse downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a Class 1 tractor–trailer, including B-train equipment
Complete local Lower Mainland pickups only
Inspect trucks daily and ensure loads are properly secured in accordance with company safety standards
Perform warehouse and yard duties between pickups, including:
Operating a forklift
Loading/unloading materials
Staging, moving, and protecting materials as required
Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and arrive promptly to pre-booked pickup locations
Follow all company safety rules and regulations
Participate in required company training and meetings
Work effectively as part of a team
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Valid Class 1 driver’s license
Minimum 2 years of experience driving tractor–trailers
B-train experience strongly preferred and used regularly in this role
Forklift experience required
Ability to read and write English to complete paperwork, follow written instructions, and fill out forms accurately
Strong time-management skills, as pickups are the primary focus of the role and some are time-sensitive
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
Must be able to pass a drug test, physical, and background check (post-offer)
Strong safety awareness and reliability
Basic knowledge of building materials is an asset
